Sending Love,

Sending love and prayers to a family that lost a loved one today. It's so hard to lose someone you love, especially a child.

Not Me Monday!

I saw this on Toree's blog, and thought it was perfect for my day. So here goes....

I did not wake up and arrive at work at 4 a.m. I did not bust it all day, just to find out the head cheese was not coming to walk the store. I did not have to deal with all the people whom seem to have lost their Christmas spirit, and are mean. I did not have an allergy attack, when I went back to the fitting room. My eyes did not water for two hours, and my nose did not start running. I did not drop a gallon of water that busted on impact. Leaving my socks wet for the rest of the day. I did not leave work at 5:30. I did not have to pump gas in the extremely cold weather with wet feet. Last but not least, I did not break my house key.

You got to love Monday's......

Today is the biggest shopping day of the season. It is so unfortunate that someone had to lose their life, over a couple of sale items. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the "temporary" worker, who was trampled today. I hope that businesses big or small will learn from the events of today. I also hope that consumers will realize that a sale is not worth trampling over someone.

The BIGGEST Shopping Day of the Year!!!

Today is Black Friday and I am so glad that it is over for me. I was up at 2 a.m., to be at work by 4 a.m. When I got there, we only had a few people waiting outside. Oh, but boy did that change in an hour. I went to let a team member in the door, and the line was around the building. Needless to say, it has been one really busy and long day. So thank you to everyone who went out and supported the economy today. Keep it up, we need it more than ever.

I voted for......

CHANGE. Today I voted. This isn't my first election, but I feel like it was just as important as the last one. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just vote for something you feel strong about. It's been along campaign and I am so glad it will end today. So to how ever wins congrats and go vote.

Kids!

My nephew Hunter is having a hard time. See my papa passed away at the end of April. They were so close. Papa would always ride him around on the lawn mower, and show him how to play the guitar. He was in heaven when my mom moved behind my grandparents last year. He would run from house to house all day. He has ask a couple of times when papa is going to come back. His mom and dad keep explaining that he's not, but at six it's hard to understand.
This past weekend someone poisoned is dog. It's so sad. He ask his mom Monday night if they could pray to god about sparky. So Hunter prayed and ask that god please feed and play with his dog. I was in tears when mom told me this story.
Well today at school he got a paddling. I do not agree with the teacher on his reasons for spanking him. To me it's not right to paddle a kid for breaking a pencil and saying he didn't do it. Than throwing it down and saying he didn't do it, and for joking with his friend saying some little girl is his girlfriend. The teacher told him he was getting a paddling for lying and calling a kid a name. Now in no part of the story did he call a kid a name. On that note I think the parents should be told of the lying, instead of pulling out a piece of wood. Come on teacher, get with it and give his parents a chance to handle the problem. It's the first day he has had this problem with him, and he knows about him not understanding why all these people he loves are leaving.
I know teachers have to have the class under control, and they can't let kids go crazy. If he had done this before than of course punish him. However, if you know a child is having a hard time, than us should expect little and I do mean little things like this to happen. I just feel that he should have called a parent and talked to them about it first. I read the book they send home for the parents to sign and there was not one bad comment about Hunter's behavior. He also told the kids that if you tell the truth you get in a little trouble and if you lye you get in big trouble. I don't know about you, but to me a bunch of six year old would only hear truth trouble, lye trouble. I don't think this is what his mom thought he would get paddled for when she signed the permission slip. Hopefully she tells them to tear it up tomorrow when she goes up there. Don't get me wrong I want him to be honest and respectful, but he is also six years old. He is still at a very impressionable age. This is just my opinion on my personal situation. I'm sure people will read this and agree with the teacher, and that's fine. I am just upset at how the teacher handled it. I will always stand behind him good or bad, right or wrong. I want him to do the right things and I know he will. He has the greatest personality and the biggest heart.

LIFE

Next Friday I will be turning 25, and I have spent the past couple of days thinking. I've been thinking about the past few years and the things I've done. I made some great choices in the past few years. However, I have made my fair share of mistake. As I reflect on my past, I wish to learn from the mistakes I have made. I want to continue to move forward and stop looking back wondering what if. I want to continue to grow as a person, and as I make a mistake learn from them, instead of repeating the same things. This is the time of my life. I don't have responsibilities. My roots are not planted, and I continue to fly with my wings. I am excited to turn 25 and finally feel like a grown up!!!

A Nice Race Treat!!!

So Friday when I got to work my boss had three extra tickets to Saturday's Indy race at Nashville Speedway. See Target has an Indy team too and a box at the track. While we don't get to sit in the box, that's for the CEO, we do get some very nice high up seats. It was a great treat. Me along with two of my peers went to the race Saturday night. We got off work on Saturday and headed to the track, minus the red and khaki. LOL!!! Of course we cheered on Target's two drivers. It was a fun night that was cut short due to a thunderstorm. We were so far away that my pics didn't turn out to good!

Sun, Sand, and Many Drinks in My Hands!!!

I'm back from my little vacation!!! I left this past Saturday to visit Candace. Yes, I drove eight and a half hours by myself. To top it all off I even got my very first speeding ticket in Columbia, SC. The poor girls lives five minutes away from the beach. So needless to say I had some sun, sand, and several drinks for the past three days. I had the greatest time hanging out with her and getting to see her new life. She moved to South Carolina all by herself. She doesn't know anyone out there, so the goal for my little get away was to go out and meet new people. We spent our days at the beach and the malls. Our nights we spent out on the town. We found this great little martini bar. It was so much fun. They had every kind of martini you could imagine. I myself love apple martini's, so when I heard they had a GREAT caramel apple martini I just had to try it. It tasted just like a caramel apple. Thanks Candace for letting me get away from my life, so that I could enjoy your new life. You can tell from her tan she's at the beach a lot!!! Be low are some pics from my trip

For picture purposes.
The biggest chess set ever!

The sand part of my trip.

Waiting to eat at PF Changs!!!

Out on the town!

We needed cash!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

It's been a bit since I last posted. I have had a busy June. The store has been exceeding sales all month, which is great news. We have started planning on getting out of summer and into back to school/college. So work is really getting crazy. It's just so much to keep up with.
I found out today that my new assignment will be the Hermitage store. I will report there on July 14. This will be my third store this year and the third time I have had to start over with my team. Needless to say I have the butterfly's again.
On top of all of this I may have to move at the end of July, which will be falling in with no tax weekend. This will be an interesting transition, if it has to happen. After no tax, than I have to plan for the back to school dates for my county. It will take me a month just to unpack the four boxes it will take to move me!!! LOL!! I plan on taking a week off after back to school, since after that we will be going into Halloween. Than right after that it's Christmas. AAAAHHHHH!!! Can't believe I just talked about Christmas.
I will be leaving early Saturday morning to visit Candace. She moved to the beach and I can't wait to see her new place. I really need to get away from the boro and work. Everyone needs to take a break from life and I am running into mine. She went to the liquor store today and bought three bottles of wine and a bottle of vodka. I promise we will be drinking this over a three to four day period. I almost died when she text me with this news. I promise to take lots of pictures and will post when I get back. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!!

I've been tagged!

Lacey Jones tagged me, so here goes,

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.

4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I have lost my big toe nail on my left foot twice now. The first time was four years ago. I took it off with a boat door. OUCH!!! The second just happened about a month ago. I dropped a huge bottle on it in the shower.

2. I love peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I promise it is really good.

3. I love Best Buy. I thought it was just a store that guys enjoyed, however I was wrong. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I walk in the front door. I have a list of things I want from there.

4. I always check for out of dates at the grocery. I can't stand for things to be out of date and since it's part of my job to check so many items a day, I'm addicted. Just ask Sarah, I pulled ten things of trail mix that was out of date at a store and gave to one of the employees. She was so embarrassed.

5. If I am driving up to my house and one of my many favorite songs come on, I keep driving. I will drive all around my neighborhood until the song is over and than come home.

6. I some times just get in my car and drive. It helps to clear my mind, but I have to be in the mood. There are just something about my alone time that I just do not think I could ever give up.

7. I always have a song in my head. If I ever get really focused in a project at work or home than I start singing it out loud and I do not realize it. Sometimes someone will say a word and a song will pop into my head so I start singing it.

I am tagging all the peeps that are reading this now!!

A New Way to Unwind!!!

Today I had the day off and it was wonderful!!! I spent the day with a friend at Ulta. She had a trial run on her hair and makeup for her wedding day next month. She looked wonderful. I than ran some errands and enjoyed a donut!! I ended my day at the gym, doing yoga.
As a lot of you know I am not really a workout kind of girl. I feel that I get enough exercise at my job walking around the store a million time. Unfortunately, it's not enough. So Ashley not only talked me in to a gym membership and tonight she talked me into yoga. I have to thank her. I loved it so much. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I feel like a different person, with all of this wonderful positive energy. So if you have not tried yoga, you should. All of my stress is gone after one hour of deep stretching and breathing. I am ready to finish my work week.

Good Old Monday!!

I can't help but love Monday's. They set the tone at work and home for how the week is going to go. Every Monday morning I wake up, with a song in my head called, Manic Monday. I sing it in the shower, while I am getting dressed and on my way to work. I even sang it to my team members. It makes them laugh and to me that's how the week should start. I guess you can say that I am one of a kind, since I love Monday's. There is just something about starting a new week, and going in with a clean slate that I love. I know we should live everyday with this feeling, but there is just something about Monday's that really makes me feel it.
Every Monday I get my homework from my boss for the week. I so thought I was done with homework after college but not so much. This Monday was made even better by the fact that I am off tomorrow!!!! I am sooooooooooo excited. I have even taken some time in my "Manic Monday"to plan out what I need to do at home. Ha!!!
So for all of my peeps out there I hope you enjoyed your Monday. Start the week off planting that positive seed and watch it grow into this wonderful energy that rubs off onto other.

Love you all!!

When did this happen!!!!

So tonight after work, I stopped by Candace's parents house. See they are having a party for Kelsey. Kelsey graduated from High School, and is one of Candace's younger sisters. I remember when we would have to go to there house to wait for the girls to get off the bus. She will be turning 18 this summer, and man how time flies.

As I sat in my chair watching Kelsey blow bubbles, I thought back to when I graduated. The year was 2001, and I was 17. I had soooooo many goals and dreams. I had planned my life right down to the seconds. As I started to recall, I felt great about all of the goals I set for myself at 17 and at 24 have completed. I wanted to move out, graduate college, and start a career. (All I have completed) Than I thought about some of the silly things I just knew would happen. I was going to be married by 22 to my boyfriend at the time, start a family at 25, and live in New York City. (All I no long want to do, except live in NYC) It amazes me how much I changed just in the first year of college, not to mention the following four years. Even today, I realized I am still changing. I am not the same person I was a year ago or even four months ago. So tonight I had a thought. "You never STOP changing."

So CONGRATS class of 2008, especially Kelsey Moore!!! Good luck with all that you choose to do and know that it is o.k. to CHANGE!!!! I leave you with a quote that a friend gave me.

"For all that you are and for all that I know you will be"- Unknown.

You Win!!

After a phone call from one of my nearest and dearest, I am in blogger land. I do not know what I am doing here. I guess one could say that my goal for this blog is to easily connect with my friends. Gone are the days of walking across the living room to tell Tiff about my day. Candace has moved to the beach, and Ashley is soon to follow. I am on a different work schedule than all of my peeps in the boro, so getting together is not as easy as it was. Hopefully this blog will help me to release a little work stress as well.

So on with a little about me. I am 24, single, a aunt, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a woman competing in a mans world. I recently got my very first "Big Girl" job. I never knew having a career would be so satisfying. I am in management with Target and love it. Yes, I work every other weekend and from 50 to 60 hours a week. I was the only female in my training class, and the funny thing is I was interviewed by all women.
